FINAL EVALUATION

FINAL EVALUATION:

This is my last entry in this portfolio, is dedicated to the final evaluation of batxillerat and the new project that begins with this promotion.
These two years we began a new project, a project with learned English. The project consisted in did a many strange activities, and obviously we don’t like it. We don’t like the changes.
In my opinion, now, I don’t like the changes too, in the class of English, but the prediction of the teachers, that it’s better for learning, it’s certain. This method it’s very hard, for the activities that we have done and all the time that we spend it, but now I see all my work and I’m feel proud; I know that my evolution is very small, if compare with my other companions, and my level is very low and I don’t now if I have the level minimum of batxillerat, may be no; but even so I have done an evolution with the level of 2006 at this year.
I don’t know what is the activity that shown better my level, may be when I read books, at the first always utilized the dictionary and the translator, and the last book that I read only I have looked some adjectives and some substantives.
The activities that considerate very useful for learn are the blog, always was complained with the blog and all the entries that you have done, but I learned so much doing this activity; also watching films, for the expressions and the colloquial English and of course the orals presentations, although I don’t like speak in public, the orals helped my with the pronunciation, and I think that one day doing to thanks you.
The activity that considerate not useful is the portfolio, why I can see my evolution in internet? I think that I can see my evolution in my house, no in internet because in internet everybody can see the portfolio and I don’t like it.
The activity that enjoy me was the songs; because was a unusual activity.
In my opinion the only activity that I don’t like me was the speak with Annika, because she are English and when I speak with she I’m feel stupid because my English is poor and I’m ashamed with my English.
I think that I write all that I thinking with this two years.

Aerials of China's quake zone

The last Monday China to had a earthquake of 7,3 in Richter scale.
The most affected area is Sichuan, only in this place have died 14.463. Also is important the number of people missing 14.061, and 64.746 of casualties.
In this week the quake was reproduced many blows.
A China government affirmed that is the most stronger of quake of this year.
In the video I can see the Sichuan zone, and the destructions.

Record breaking cigar attempt

Jose Castelar, who lives in la Habanna Cuba, wants to get a record Guinness. The record consist in make the world’s longest cigar (30 metre approximately).
Jose is an old former, and learned the art of cigar-making at the age of 5 with her uncle.
Finally, he obtained in 2001, 2003 and 2005 the Guinness world record for the world’s longest cigar, and he pretend exceed her stamp.

BOOK SUMMARY

The age of innocence:

The age of innocence talks about Newland Archer a men who belongs at the rich society of 1870 in New York.

Newland loves comptessa Olenska, Ellen, the cousin of May. But Ellen is marry with the Count, but her relationship doesn’t like it; Ellen would breaks with her husband, but in this society it’s forbid because it’s write in the rules of this society. At the final, Neweland marries with May, but he loves Ellen, and she love he. It’s the best solution; Newland and May have three sons. When born the third son, May dead. One day, Newland go to Paris, for a travel with work; Ellen lives in Paris; when she go to see Newland, he didn’t want to see she, because thinks that she pertains to the past.

The history happens to New York in 1870.

The main characters are Newland, May and Ellen.

My favourite moment is when Ellen, that is the typical woman who intents change the rules of this society, she is strong and decisive, decide leaves for your cousin and Newland.

Architectural jewel re-opens:

The warehouse in Mataró designed by Gaudí, a modernist architect, it’s finally. Built in 1883, form part with a textile mill. The renovation began in 2001 and has cost some 2.000.000. In the future, the building will serve for a young people looking employment.

New cameras in police cells:

After the scandals over acussation of abuse of a detained, a few months ago, by the Mossos d’Esquadra, or local police, have been installed 39 cameras at the Les Corts police station, for prevention.

Well, I’m fine, the new place is wonderful and the new house is enormous!
My new school friends are well, and we are very polite and I have some friends!
She called Mery and lives near me. We always go together to the school and spend some tine together. When you come to visit me I will introduce her to you.

I’m writing this letter because I World like to do something about water’s waste in Spain.

I read an article which talked about the desert’s Sahara and the few water it has, and this article made me think.

In Spain the rains descended, well, the months of rains descended, and the capacity of the lakes too.

People need to change their habits about the water’s waste; for example forbid the private pools and build municipal pools. Also reduce the water’s flux for a good control of the water.

Well these are some ideas too reduce the waste of water.

Opinion Essay

The research paper:

The research project was approved some years ago by the Generalitat, consists of a work, well, a very extensive work, about any Tepic that you World like. It is done in second of batxillerat, the year before the University.

I quite believe that, this is the big problem, doing the project the last year, because in second we have a lot of work, like exams every week, because it is a short year.

In addition the project is a long project, as I said before, and it is necessary waste of time, to find information, or other things.

I believe that it is a lot of work and responsibility.

To sum up, I think that the Generalitat, should eliminate this project and this way the students can dedicate more time to study exams, and get better marks to enter University.

A Description of a place

La Rambla de Barcelona:

The Rambla of Barcelona is placed in the middle of the city. It’s extension is from the Plaça CAtalunya until the statue of Colon, next to the port of Barcelona.
That is one of the most famous places of the city, and is always visited for tourists from all the world. For this reason, is the most crowded place of the city, and also it’s a multicultural site.
In the picture you can see many of flats that surround the Rambla, and the trees side to side of the Rambla. Side to side of the place you can see many stalls, where plants, newspapers or animals are sold.
The colours that you can see are the grey of the flats, the green of the trees and also the colourful plants.
The people of the picture show an entertaining appearance with the stalls, and their products. It’s an attractive image.
Other attractive things La Rambla, but in the picture can’t see, are the mimes, people with costumes and for one coin acting agree whit your character.
I think that The Rambla is a spectacular place, you can see people to of all the countries, and is a good place to get lost among the people.

FASHION FAIR BREAKS RECORDS - 24/01/08

The 16 to 18 of January was celebrated the fashion fair at the Fira de Barcelona in Montjuïc. Was obtained the record of numbers of persons who visited a one Fair of this type. The first day attracted over 33.000 visitors. For the next fair, the next year, they hope utlize an area of 130.000 to 160.000 square meters.

GETTING READY FOR FRANKFURT BOOK FAIR - 12/04/07

In october of 2007 was celebrated the Frankfurt book fair, and the catalan culture was be the guest of honour. And the IRC (Institut Ramon Llull) has decided to subside the transaltion of some literary books at other lenguajes, like a Indian, French, and of course, Germany amd English.
The IRL was pretended that all the peolple that visited the fair can know tlhe catalan culture.
